New Idea for Main Character.
Name: Sam Holdstein
Occupation: Security Technician
Age: 24
Ethnicity: White
Where he grew up: Los Angelas, California

Back Story:
An experimental sub-optic rocket has gone rogue over the deserts of Nevada. Unable to regain control of the rocket, the military sends a missle powered by acid based boosters to blow it up, so the pieces would disintegrate in the lower atmosphere. In a freak of nature, the warhead malfunctions and does little damage, but damages the hydraulics which control the carbon rods that regulate the nuclear boosters. The rods are pulled out,and the nuclear blast that results in the lower atmosphere vaporises the acid into a fine mist that settles over everything, and causes a widespread e.m.p. (electromagnetic pulse) across the entirety of north america. The whole event known above would be called "The Glaze", a corrosive, dark, smudgelike mixture has formed over everything, locking the day sky into a reddish hue, and settling on people's skin. The acid slowly eats through through their flesh and causes an amplified version of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (see below), the symptoms being changes in gate, hallucinations, lack of coordination, muscle twitching, myoclonic jerks or seizures, and rapidly developing delirium or demential. The intense pain caused by the acid, compiled with their dementia, causes them to attribute the living, called "the blessed" by the infected, to be the source of their problems. Therefore, they mob against them. Another effect of the acid is the horrible mutations of the human DNA and the abosorbtion of it into the human bloodstream. The acid gets absorbed into the bloodstream when it becomes weaker after having eaten slowly through the skin, the blood absorbs the substance and mutated dna is formed causing outwardly body mutations such as extra body parts, etc, a reddish hue of their skin based off of dilated blood vessels, and the rage virus listed above. The virus can be recieved by having the blood of the infected land on you (acid burns and then rage virus) (delayed turn), or a bite spreading the blood directly(sudden turn).


Plot: Sam, tired from his day of watching security cameras and people shopping outside of his security room, is suddenly brought to full attention by a massive blast that sounds outside and rocks the building's foundations. Panic ensues, and screaming is coming from everywhere at once, he runs to the electronic security door to get out of his room, thinking it's a terror attack. He tries the door, but the electronic unlock is fried, and won't open. Confused, he turns around, looking up at his cctv feeds, and to his suprise, they are all off. Suddenly, a thump sounds to his right, and to his horror, a woman appears, writhing in agony, covered with bubbling blisters, and eaten away skin in some parts. He's struck in terror, but a sudden crack soon alerts him, and he realizes whatever is eating away at the woman is warping and melting the security glass. He screams and turns around quickly, and the player must use their dexterity to guide Sam to open the panic room underneath his post, with the tick of panic as the glass is being eaten away. The player gets through, closing the entrance above him. Safe for then, he wonders what the hell is going on, and decides it's best to head through the sewers beneath the streets. There, he sees the Glaze, a term that is later coined,a darkness that mutates and eats away everything that it touches, and he sees that water is what diffuses it. And this is where the adventure begins.. Will later find another person in the sewers.. maybe later a group will be formed and decisions will be made.. like the walking dead in a sense. Ok. Now levels and areas.

Chapter 1: Chaos
Setting: First floor of a Streetside Bookstore, In Security Room like schematic below:

Plot Sequence:
Scene 1: [Cutscene] Fade in, slow music playing in background on grungy, cheap looking radio. First person view, eyes half closed.
Scene 2:[Cutscene] Suddenly, everything goes quiet, including his radio, and the buzz of his cctv camera tapes. He looks up, curious, wonders what's going on, his camera feed is off, and then suddenly, a sharp scream sounds outside, he turns toward the street, focusing on a car crash that his pinned a girl, but then the rest of the street comes into focus, and he can see that the whole street is in chaos, with car accidents everywhere, and strangely, not a single sound from a car. But suddenly, the sky darkens, and there is a supersonic boom that rips through the air, followed by an environment that looks glazed over( camera filter) and everyone is screaming, pulling at their eyes and hair as their faces are melted away by the acid. Horrific screams everywhere, and then suddenly, Molly, the help desk operator right by the back doors, crumples onto the security glass in a bang sound. Sam turns, and to his horror, her face is half melted away, and a streak of boiling blood smears across the glass. He tears up, goes for the door, but realizes it is foolish, because everyone outside is being eaten by the acrid air, the ones outside getting the brunt of the damage.
Scene 3: [Gameplay] The character, now in [the walking dead 3rd person view], must find the panic room hatch with their mouse, Sam tells them that the hatch is locked by a hex lever, the character must then find the lever on his desk, easy to medium mode show a ring around important objects/ objects by default, hard to expert just change the mouse to a palm/grab symbol when hovering over objects. The character then uses the hex wrench to undo the latch on the hatch, and the character slips inside, just as a collapse of glass can be heard, and he sees the nauseous fumes enter the security room right as he closes the hatch. Major Plot Flow: Gameplay would be based on survival, group continuity?, and trials built on the struggle for rebuilding society. with elements such as those in the "Maze Runner" series, as well as the game "The Walking Dead", and a rundown urban jungle setting with danger and surprise around every turn. Gameplay would be balanced between both a deep storyline based on dialogue and critical choices to make (game would adapt to the way you play, at first would be how people thought of you, then more game-changing decisions once we go back to refining the game), (choosing one person to save over another, etc), and a high-paced, high-action hack and slash that focuses mainly on melee weapons, but with various guns scattered around the map with limited ammo.

Very elaborate story which we can use. I do like Sam's occupation as a security technician because I had to do a topic in English regarding on how mass surveillance and security technology can influence too much on the government's power. But this technology can be a useful tool throughout the game.
