Main Character

I think that the character should have a fixed name to allow for more in-depth plot that actually makes sense.

Edit: Our character should be 20. Honestly, it would make alot more sense; ability to handle a gun, knowledge of equipment, etc.

The character doesn't have to be 20, it can still be a person around the 14-20 year old range. Although it would make sense with the ability to handle arms and use of equipment, if we want a character thrust into this suddenly or finding himself in the dystopian world then the character should probably be younger to REALLY make it seem as though it's a sudden change plus with things like the Hunger Games, the idea that kids and teens can handle some kind of weapon is believable as well.

Yeah, and we also want to convey fear, shock, and uncertainty. You throw a kid, even someone 17-19, into a major conflict and give him/her a gun or some sort of weapon there will be a lot of confusion and despair especially since this is a "the whole world has gone to shit" type of deal.
